İşbank secures a sustainable syndicated loan of approximately US$1.3 billion

İşbank has secured a 367-day sustainable syndicated loan of US$658.8 million and €520.3 million.

The loan worth approximately US$1.3 billion will be used to finance the Bank's activities for environmental and/or social good in line with its sustainable financing framework. The transaction was completed at a lower price than the previous period amid volatile risk appetite in global markets and involved 47 banks from 18 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

İşbank CEO Hakan Aran emphasized that the transaction was proof of their continued support for Türkiye's sustainable economic development, adding that the syndicated loan they secured in the same period last year was renewed, thus confirming once again the confidence placed in both the Bank and the Turkish economy in international markets.

Aran: “We will continue to lead the real sector's transition to a low-carbon economy and our clients' green transformation journey."

Aran stated that the loan offered a strong funding support for the Bank's multidimensional efforts towards the sustainable development goals, which had gained greater importance with Türkiye hosting the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) in November. “By effectively utilizing the funds offered, we will contribute to sustainable economic growth while simultaneously supporting the implementation of our climate transition plan, which we have put into practice in line with our net-zero targets. Leveraging the transformative power of financing, we will continue to diversify the green financing solutions we offer to our clients in order to achieve the mitigation targets we have set for emission-intensive sectors and accelerate sectoral transformation. Through our climate strategy shaped by realistic, ambitious and feasible steps, and the concrete sectoral roadmaps we have created, we will keep leading the transition process of the real sector to a low-carbon economy as well as the green transformation journey of our clients."
