İşbank is proud to be the first Turkish bank to publish a comprehensive transition plan covering the full set of carbon-intensive sectors defined by the NZBA, detailing our strategies to decarbonize our portfolio sector by sector. This plan reflects our commitment to sustainability and provides a clear roadmap for how we intend to align with global net-zero targets and our climate transition strategy. This strategic approach outlines İşbank’s near-term objectives while reinforcing the vision of building an environmentally sustainable economy.
The primary focus of this plan is on emissions arising from our loan portfolio. When calculating financed emissions intensity values, we followed the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) methodology. This approach ensures transparency, comparability, and consistency.
We have tailored our decarbonization efforts for each sector, as emission levels and corresponding action plans vary across industries. With this understanding, we have developed sector-specific decarbonization strategies for each high-emitting sector in our portfolio, accompanied by effective and feasible action plans. These plans are aligned with science-based reference pathways that comply with international standards.
Combating climate change is our collective responsibility that requires coordinated efforts. Guided by this awareness, as the Bank leading the green transformation of Türkiye, we move forward together with our clients, guiding them and offering products and services to support their transition journey. We invite all stakeholders to join us in accelerating the shift toward a sustainable future.
