Executive management changes at İşbank Group
In line with its second-century vision and strategy, İşbank Group has made changes to its senior management team pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors. The changes aim to enhance the Group's competitiveness and efficiency across banking, finance and industry while enabling it to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the age of AI.
Hakan Aran has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Şişecam, a global company representing Türkiye on the international stage.
It was also resolved that H. Cahit Çınar -currently Deputy CEO of İşbank- be appointed the CEO of İşbank effective September 1, 2026, following the completion of the required notifications to, and approvals from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency.
In line with its second-century vision and strategy and pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Board of Directors, İşbank Group has made changes to its senior management with the aim of enhancing the Group's competitiveness and efficiency across banking, finance and industry while enabling it to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the age of AI.
As part of these changes, Hakan Aran, who has served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of İşbank since 2021 and led the Bank into its second century through transformation and investment across a wide range of areas—from next-generation subsidiaries and the entrepreneurship ecosystem to the organisational and service model, branch network, platform banking, artificial intelligence and technology infrastructure—has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Şişecam, one of the world's five largest glass and chemicals manufacturers.
In his new role, Hakan Aran will lead future growth strategy of Şişecam -a company with a heritage spanning more than 90 years and a global player, with production operations across four continents and 13 countries and products reaching customers in more than 150 countries.
Adnan Bali, who has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of İşbank since 2021, will continue to serve in this role.
It was resolved that Deputy Chief Executive Officer H. Cahit Çınar, who has assumed significant responsibilities at the Bank for many years, be appointed the Chief Executive Officer of İşbank effective September 1, 2026, following the completion of the required notifications to, and approvals from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency.
Throughout his 35-year banking career, including 25 years in executive roles, Çınar has made significant contributions to the Bank in Türkiye and internationally across banking, capital markets, project finance, corporate, commercial and retail credit allocation, credit strategy, credit monitoring and follow-up, subsidiary management, legal affairs, tax, construction and real estate management. Appointed Chief Executive Officer of İşbank AG in 2016, Çınar played a key role in the Bank's transformation. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Trakya Yatırım Holding to support the Group's more strategic and focused growth objectives.
Biography of H. Cahit Çınar:
H. Cahit Çınar was born in Ankara in 1967 and graduated from the Department of International Relations at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences. He attended Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 1989–1990. In 1991, Çınar joined İşbank as an Assistant Specialist in the Economic Research Division and became an Assistant Inspector on the Board of Inspectors in 1992. Appointed Assistant Manager in the Commercial Loans Underwriting Division in 2001, H. Cahit Çınar subsequently served as Regional Manager and Division Manager of the Division. He became Manager of the Güneşli Corporate Branch in 2013. In 2016, he assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer at Germany-based İşbank AG, which operates across Europe, and in 2018 was appointed Deputy CEO at İşbank. After serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Trakya Yatırım Holding A.Ş., a Group company, in 2024–2025, he returned to İşbank as Deputy CEO on May 1, 2025.
During his tenure as the Deputy CEO of İşbank, H. Cahit Çınar was responsible for subsidiaries, project finance, corporate, commercial and retail credit allocation, credit strategy, credit monitoring and follow-up, legal affairs, tax, construction and real estate management.
