İşbank Joins COP31 as a “Climate Supporter”

İşbank will participate in COP31, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, as a “Climate Supporter." The Bank will showcase to international stakeholders its initiatives supporting a strong and resilient future for Türkiye and focus on solutions and partnerships to support turning climate goals into concrete investments.

The 31st session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), where international cooperation and concrete steps in tackling the global climate crisis are addressed at the highest level, will be held in Antalya from November 9 to 20, 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Guided by COP31's core principles of dialogue, consensus and action, İşbank will bring to COP31 its contributions toward Türkiye's environmentally and socially strong and resilient transformation. Throughout the summit, the Bank will present its vision and concrete actions in supporting stakeholders in their climate transition journeys. In this context, thematic dialogues and gatherings featuring leading figures will be held across various topics, including the energy transition, climate finance, decarbonization, green industrialization, youth and education, oceans, food and agriculture.

“We will focus on tangible solutions, strategic partnerships and the role of finance in the transition"

Commenting on İşbank's participation in COP31, Ebru Özşuca, Deputy Chief Executive and Sustainability Leader of İşbank, emphasized the importance of actions taken to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Özşuca noted that tackling climate change, one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity, requires swift action worldwide and the development of innovative, collaborative solutions. She stated:

“While climate change impacts companies' production processes, investment needs and competitiveness, it also shapes the future of our natural resources and social welfare. Building a resilient future requires addressing these areas together and mobilising a diverse range of expertise and resources around shared goals.

Understanding our customers' transition needs, helping projects become viable and bankable, and directing the necessary capital towards the right investments are key elements of this approach. At İşbank, as we contribute to tackling climate change, we also aim to strengthen Türkiye's production capacity, competitiveness and long-term resilience.

COP31 provides a unique platform for presenting Türkiye's green development initiative on the international stage and developing shared solutions. In the Green Zone, where we will have a presence, we will focus on concrete solutions, strategic partnerships and the role of finance in the transformation of the real economy. In our second century, we continue to work toward a strong and resilient future for Türkiye through the partnerships we build and the financing solutions we offer."

Bringing finance, science, art and technology together at COP31

At the core of the experience İşbank will present at COP31 lies its long-standing expertise and the financing solutions it has developed across various sectors. The Bank supports its customers' transition across a broad range of areas from renewable energy financing and improving agricultural productivity to supporting women entrepreneurs and driving the green transition of SMEs.

Building on these efforts through its contributions to scientific research, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and innovative technologies, İşbank will highlight the vital role that projects uniting finance, science, art, and technology play in building a resilient future. The Bank aims for the partnerships formed during the summit to deliver lasting and tangible contributions to climate action.
