A FIRST IN TURKEY: “PARAKOD”
(MONEYCODE) A SIMPLE, RELIABLE
AND QUICK METHOD OF PAYMENT IN
E-COMMERCE
In October 2012, İşbank launched the
“Parakod” (Moneycode) application, through
which İşbank customers can buy any
product or service, either online or from
stores, by using their mobile phones and
without entering any card data or having to
carry their credit cards. The application is
based on the QR code technology.
KEEP THE CHANGE
Üstü Kalsın” (Keep the Change) is an
innovative product that aims to generate an
awareness of thrift and investment.
Under a service available to customers
who hold both credit card and investment
accounts with İşbank, the balance due
shown in the account statement is rounded
up to a maximum limit set by the customer
and the difference between the two
amounts is added to their investment
account. “Keep the Change” is intended
to encourage customers to save without
changing their spending habits.
As of year-end 2012, the Bank had received
150,874 “Keep the Change” orders through
which TL 20.6 million worth of mutual fund
shares were purchased.
INVESTMENT PRODUCTS CAMPAIGNS
IN 2012
During 2012, İşbank’s bond and bill issues
have been effectively communicated to
existing and potential customers in above-
the-line and below-the-line channels. İşbank
further diversified the range of investment
products on offer to its customers by
providing intermediary for a number of
private sector corporate bond issues and
equity offerings.
The Bank conducted marketing activities
to rechannel the gold kept “under the
mattress” into the economy, and endeavored
throughout the year to augment the
volume of Gold Deposits. Various offers
have been introduced via Internet Banking,
encouraging regular purchase of gold
and mutual funds from the credit card or
current account. In addition, MaxiPara Altın
Kart (MaxiPara Gold Card) was introduced,
enabling easy transfer of gram equivalents
of gold coins to Demand Gold Deposit
accounts.
CONVENIENCE IN OGS AND HGS
Automatic Pass-Through (OGS) devices
and Rapid Pass-Through (HGS) contactless
protocols that facilitate highway and bridge
crossing tolls are provided to motor vehicle
owners with special services, under the
guarantee of İşbank.
İşbank significantly enhanced customer
loyalty through a campaign held in 2012,
under which OGS devices were supplied free
of charge.
As of year-end 2012, the number of OGS
devices issued by İşbank reached 998,080.
In December 2012, İşbank became the first
bank in Turkey to sell HGS protocols, and
the number of HGS protocols sold reached
80,000 by the end of the year.
